The primary purposes of this job is to assist the overall operation of the Technical Services Department, Environmental Services and Security contractor in accordance with Hospital policies, current applicable federal, state and local requirements and as directed by the Director of Facilities. The Technical Services Department contains Plant Operations, Equipment maintenance, Clinicial Engineering, Groundskeeping, Locksmith, Environmental Services, Security contract employees, facilities security systems and resources.
This position works collaboratively with the Construction Project Manager to coordinate resource and support needs for execution of hospital projects. The Assitant Manager of Facilities also will assist in managing the Environmental Services department and oversite of Security contract.
The Assistant Manager of Facilities also will assist as a safety and security officer and participates in development and implementation of the Hospital Safety and Security Programs as needed.

General engineering, specific technical education from an accredited institution, or equivalent relative past experience.

Three years prior experience with at least one year in management position.

Educational background must provide ability to understand operating principles of all mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems utilized in the hospital.

Evidence of continuing education appropriate for area.

Knowledgeable in TJC PTSM Standards, State of Oregon Fire and Electrical Codes.

Maintains good interpersonal relationships with staff and other departments.

Well groomed and demonstrates appropriate professional conduct.
