The Edward Jones Brand + Agency team is building out a world-class creative crew to support our growth into a full-service in-house model. We’re looking for an ACD with a copywriting background, to join us as a Team Lead. This is a “player-coach” role, where you will be leading projects and teams, and regularly rolling your sleeves up to be hands-on with the work.

Functional Responsibilities:

Lead teams to develop and implement highly complex strategies to influence target audience behavior.
Provide thought leadership and recommendations to senior leaders on strategy, and programs of responsibility in order to plan execution to meet relevant business goals.
Direct team members to align program/strategy components across divisions and audiences to strengthen the brand internally and externally. May involve channel strategy (media (digital, social, interactive, video, print, etc.),

Effectively build relationships with senior firm leadership to provide counsel.to develop, align, execute and measure work, often with competing priorities.
Guide team to apply research insights to market and target audience needs to develop positioning and channel activation strategy.
Constructively dissatisfied – Your exceptional writing standards, rigorous eye for detail, deep respect of strategy and nuanced command of tone and voice, fuel you to push for excellence at every level (platform, concept, campaign, execution)
Give compelling presentations to internal teams and business partners; ability to tell a story about the strategic and creative decisions that led to the work and its impact
Collaborate and partner with teams across disciplines, as well as external agencies, to advance the strength of the brand

Leadership Responsibilities:

Support development and execution of strategic direction and business plan for team and department.
Intrinsically motivated and resourceful – you can figure out how to move work forward if the path is unclear; you remain resilient and solutions-oriented in the face of challenge

Establish work priorities, allocate appropriate resources and lead others through execution of work to align with firm objectives, standards and regulatory requirements.
Inspire, influence and mentor other creatives; share examples of great creative, set clear expectations, provide timely feedback, conduct performance reviews, guide professional development

Manage resources, including hiring/onboarding new associates and external resources.
Create an inclusive, engaging team environment; exhibit generosity in sharing ideas, feedback and care for others
Functional Requirements:

B.S./B.A. in Journalism, Communication, Marketing, Advertising, or related field required.
Minimum 10 years of experience in marketing or related field.
Demonstrated success developing and delivering strategic outcomes in a large, complex organization.
Extensive knowledge of communication principles, tools and message design elements.
Superior written and verbal communication skills and interpersonal skills. .
Ability to serve as a senior consultant to firm leaders and business areas regarding planning, strategic program development and delivery.
Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite.
Strong understanding and ability to apply design principles; strong concepting ability as well as layout and typographic skills.

Leadership Requirements:

Experience leading through others to achieve results, including setting direction, establishing priorities and providing thought leadership.
Proven ability to prioritize and delegate work as well as identify skills required to complete it in a dynamic, matrix environment.
Proven ability to develop strong relationships, collaborate, influence and build consensus at all levels.
Must be an innovative thinker to improve processes and procedures.
Must have excellent interpersonal, communication, negotiation, organization and project management skills.
Must be flexible and willing to explore different paths to achieve an outcome and adjust quickly to new circumstances.
