We are actively hiring a Commodity Manager to support one of the largest tech companies headquartered in Seattle, WA. Role will be hybrid onsite in Seattle, WA.
Daily schedule: 8-5 M-F 40 hours per week

Job Description:
This is a fast-paced, intellectually challenging position, and you’ll work with thought leaders in multiple technology areas.
You’ll have relentlessly high standards for yourself and everyone you work with, and you’ll be constantly looking for ways to improve cost, quality and delivery of your components.

The team is very close-knit group of individuals working aggressively to meet challenging R&D targets. The team works very closely with engineers and QA folks. The team also works with suppliers to find solutions to find solutions for complex problems. The environment is challenging but very rewarding. There are weekly happy hours with team.
This role will be responsible for ensuring Kuiper is aligning itself with the correct industry partners to guarantee the most robust supply chain.
Essential in the on-time delivery of hardware capable of achieving mission success.
Team members will work with a broad scope and autonomy to fill any and all gaps between product concept and delivery.
You will need to develop innovative methods to establish a low-cost space rated product that will endure the harshness of space.
You will develop commodity strategies to mitigation risk that focus on cost, quality and delivery.
Make proactive recommendations for material selection and processing to ensure mission longevity for current and future satellite designs.
This role will require a thorough understanding of material sourcing for space environments as well as a thorough understanding of manufacturing processes.
You will work closely with responsible engineers to resolve non-conformance trends and implement preventative actions
Lead regular supplier meetings and also lead random onsite visits for suppliers to evaluate performance, capacity, and identify potential issues rather than just relying on supplier reports.
Develop and deploy vendor risk scorecards, pull data from various sources to have a holistic view of vendors’ health.
The contractor will be effectively working on the communication infrastructure for the next 100 years. Space tele-communication and infrastructure is something new and the contractor will have a lot of visibility working on such a new and revolutionary project. BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain, or related field
3+ years of experience in program management, logistics, operations, supply chain
Experience leading cross-functional programs
Experience designing, implementing, and optimizing initiatives
Experience with data mining, data analysis and data visualization
Experience with Microsoft Excel including pivot tables, macros, index/match, vlookup, VBA, data links, network optimization, negotiation, etc.
Experience with analytical tools such as SQL, Tableau or Microsoft Access

PREFFERED QUALIFICATIONS:
Master’s Degree in Business, Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain, or related field
5+ years of experience in program management, logistics, operations, supply chain and owning cross-functional programs
Demonstrated ability to dive deep and solve complex nuanced problems
Experience with composites and composite manufacturing techniques
Cross-functional communication – comfortable evangelizing ideas and concerns clearly and persuasively, in both verbal and written forms
Experience building financial models
Experience drafting technical and non-technical documents
Demonstrated ability to engage technology developers in the industry to track and adopt emerging technologies
Experience with sourcing of materials (glass, ceramics, plastics, plastics)
Contract negotiation
Understanding of export compliance (Regulations and rules regarding exports)
