We are looking to hire a Chemistry Lab Technician to work on 1st shift (Monday-Friday, 7:00 am – 3:00 pm) We will consider candidates with varying levels of chemistry experience. In addition, we will also consider training candidates who have a strong interest in chemistry with good math aptitude and great communication skills. The person would be flexible to various training schedules and willing to do what it takes to learn all aspects of this role.

Essential Job Duties/Responsibilities

Responsible for all pH adjustments.
Transfers chemical solutions from process tanks into waste storage in compliance with EPA and state regulations.
Daily chemical sampling and analysis methods.
Perform daily chemical analysis primarily via titration and Flame Atomic Absorption Spectrophotometry (FAAS).
Perform dilutions, volumetric pipetting, and titrations efficiently to a high degree of analytical precision.
Perform maintenance and calibration of analytical instrumentation, including FAAS.
Maintain spatial awareness of production processes while performing chemical sampling and chemical additions.
Opportunity to assist in troubleshooting chemical origins of process problems as they relate to product quality.
Opportunity to work with waste treatment system.
Light Environmental Management.
Use of statistical data control required for monitoring and improving chemical processes.
Maintain inventory of laboratory chemicals/supplies.
Maintain organization and cleanliness of laboratory.
Performs other miscellaneous job duties and related functions as needed.

Work Environment

Sharp parts, sharp tooling, heavy carts, occasional hot and cold temperature and humidity levels, heat from ovens, moderate noise levels, hand and air tool use, compressed air (must use hearing protection).
Must be able to maneuver a full drum or barrel of chemical that varies in weight. (est. 500-700lbs)
Must successfully complete respiratory fit testing.
Hazard chemicals handled frequently.
Must adhere to PPE requirements and core safety principles with regards to hazardous materials handling.

Education/Qualifications

Preferred 2–4-year college degree or courses in chemistry.
Strong math aptitude needed.
Strong oral and written communication skills.
