The
Bannett Group, LTD. a well-established, profitable, build design firm located in Cherry Hill, NJ, seeks a conscientious Controller. This is a unique opportunity to join our organization in advance of our current controller retiring, to ensure proper training and transition to safeguard both the organization’s success and that of the new hire in this role. The Controller reports directly to the Owner/President and provides financial leadership to the entire organization.
At The Bannett Group, we believe in rolling up our sleeves to do the best work at all levels, and this role is no exception. Our controller is both a hands-on and a strategic financial leader. Key responsibilities include:
Prepare all internal and external financial reporting and collaborate with outside accounting firms on projections and planning for annual statements and taxes.
Oversee and support all day-to-day accounting functions including AR, AP, PR, and AIA construction billings.
Partner with outside CPA firms, banking, insurance, surety, 401k, and IT support professionals to advance the owner’s objectives.
Produce 401k Sponsor documentation to meet Plan Administrator processing, testing, compliance, reporting, and DOL filing requirements.
Manage Annual Insurance Renewal.
Manage state and local business registrations, licenses, certifications, and tax compliance.
The ideal candidate would have:
A Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting.
A minimum of 5 years of accounting experience, specifically in construction or job cost-based organizations in a managerial position and a bachelor’s degree in accounting. CPA is a plus.
Managerial Experience required.
Intimate knowledge of construction job costing and percentage of completion revenue recognition analysis and reporting to include the WIP Schedule.
Knowledge of Timberline Accounting is a plus.
