You will decide how new technology and technical changes will be best implemented in accordance with policies and participate in major information technology projects, infrastructure initiatives and legislation. You will perform planning, estimation, prioritization, design and consultative activities while troubleshooting technology problems and providing support and training to improve performance, usability and accessibility of our technology to better serve our customers. A day in the life:
Coordinate limited scale initiatives such as system maintenance, legislative implementations, infrastructure modifications, upgrades and migrations.
Assist with initiating system changes and corrections by monitoring and evaluating customer’s needs, changes in laws and regulations and new goals of the agency.
Create and maintain system change and correction requests.
Perform analysis of legislative bills, assist with preparing fiscal impact evaluations and serve on implementation teams.
Monitor the progress of system change and correction requests and keep customers, external stakeholders and management informed.
Verify the functionality and accuracy of new and modified programs, data and output with business customers.
Evaluate project plans, develop forecasts and participate in feasibility and impact studies.
Assist with the planning, scheduling and installation of upgrades or changes to computer application systems and other major technology infrastructure.
Work closely with internal and external customers and provide guidance and support.
Provide statistical queries and reports.
Remote work options available! Work involves occasional weekend or after hours work and could require infrequent travel.

What we need:
Any combination of experience and education equivalent to seven (7) years of experience that typically supports the knowledge and skills for the classification.
A bachelor’s degree in business or public administration, behavioral or social sciences, finance, political science or any degree demonstrating the capacity for the knowledge and skills; and four (4) years professional-level evaluative, analytical and planning work.
Driving is an essential function of this position. You must have a valid driver license and an acceptable driving record. We will conduct pre-employment driving records checks on our final candidate(s). Your license does not have to be issued in Oregon to be considered.

Ability to balance strategic thinking and attention to detail to identify complex problems, find appropriate solutions and adapt to changing information.

Experience creating business needs documents, system test plans, test cases and documenting test results.
Ability to conduct research, compose, review and edit technical documents.
