Ready to re-imagine the new employee experience while making impact on a global scale? As the Director of New Builder Success you will be responsible for new employee success globally across AWS. Specifically, you will develop and implement onboarding programs across all levels of AWS hires to scale hiring. You’ll ensure all new employees are introduced to our culture with consistent New Hire Orientation (NHO) sessions and enable all new employees with comprehensive launch plans. In addition, you will take the lead in advancing the AWS strategies to increase building talent supplies (Apprenticeships, Ada Developers Academy, Return to Work) and hiring of military veterans. You will partner with the Talent Acquisition teams responsible for attracting the talent to provide plans for new employees once they join AWS. Get ready to innovate while testing new ways to develop top talent, and exploring creative approaches to talent acquisition and talent management.
About the team
In this role, you will lead the New Employee Success team, better known within AWS as the “New Builder Success” (NBS) Team. The NBS team has a disproportionate impact on the employee experience of thousands of employees (“builders”) in AWS and, if so motivated, can deliver the ideal builder experience to the benefit of our AWS customers and employees.
Experience as a Analyst, BI Engineer, Data Scientist, or another highly analytical role.
Ability to develop a vision and strategy that inspires teams, apply operational excellence techniques to implement that vision, and be known for partnering well in high-velocity environment(s) with clients, HR peers and HR central teams to meet business objectives
Experience driving innovation and finding new solutions, which lead to tangible results.
A passion for hiring and talent assessment to ensure the right people are in the right roles, and will be known as a strong leader and team builder and developer of talent
Ability to strike the right balance between speed/flexibility and process/compliance
Highly analytical to ensure that the organization rigorously measures and analyzes the right things to drive success
Experience anticipating future talent needs and have strategies in place to meet the needs of a fast growing, dynamic business.
Experience continuously scaling to remain ahead of a complex, high growth, global franchise.
This position is flexible in terms of location. The candidate may be based out of an AWS Office in North America, including (but not limited to): Seattle WA, Herndon VA, New York NY, Dallas TX, Palo Alto CA, Boston MA, Atlanta GA, etc.
