JOB SUMMARY
The Club Director of Engagement is the executive and strategic leader for the Engagement Business Unit. They drive experience-based thinking and collaborate cross functionally with peers to enhance the overall level of engagement for members and staff alike. The director is accountable to the outcomes of experience and satisfaction throughout the club and regularly assesses the impact of their work through data analysis and member/staff feedback loops.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Accomplishing full integration and adoption throughout the organization.
Lead a team of specialists that focus on data analysis, storytelling, innovation, and research for the club.
Work closely with the committee system and members at large to ensure that a strong member voice is present in decisions that will impact engagement.
Keeps a close pulse on feedback loops and looks for trends to proactively address.
SECONDARY FUNCTIONS
Close work and collaboration with peers in the executive leadership team to see large initiatives completed annually.
Annual creation and management of the Engagement Business Unit budget.
Performance management of all direct reports.
Create and present an annual state of engagement report club wide to inform future budget creation, strategic initiatives and resourcing.
JOB SCOPE
Decision making authority for work in the engagement business unit lies with the director and they are accountable to the outcomes of those decisions. The position has a large role in innovation and creative problem solving for the business and builds the engagement budget accordingly. Financial management is the accountability of the director and regular quarterly reforecasts are prepared by the person in this role.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY
Direct oversight of at least 3 club functions to include Membership, Data Analytics and Club Experience.
Lead a business unit with more than 30 indirect reports.
Regularly conducts team meetings to align on club-wide changes, strategy and proactively encourages cross functional integration from their team.
SPECIFIC JOB ABILITY
Strong strategy skills that tie long term outcomes to operational concepts, then into pilots and finally into a sustained model.
A data enthusiast that understands trends, can find the story in the numbers, and can articulate where the business should focus based on the data.
Building teams and relationships is critical to this role and the director is adeptly suited to working with people.
SPECIFIC JOB EFFORT
Physically being present during key events, helping to set up/tear down rarely may be needed.
QUALIFICATIONS
1. Bachelor degree required; Masters preferred
2. 5-year minimum experience with customer relationship management is required
3. Data analytics certification or equivalent direct experience required
4. Minimum of 5 years leading and developing teams
