Description :
FUNCTION: To assist the teacher in meeting the needs of children with developmental delays or disabilities.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assist in the supervision and instruction of individual children and groups of children;
Assist in the sanitation and preparation of child specific developmental learning areas including but not limited to the classroom, play areas, gymnasium equipment, outdoor play structures and equipment, meal and/or snack areas;
Assist in the feeding, toileting, physical care, health needs and safety of all children;
Assist in the application of child management procedures;
Assist in the recording and maintaining of child performance data;
Assist in the preparation of instructional and other materials;
Perform organizational and clerical tasks as assigned;
Communicate clearly and make independent decisions within established policies and procedures;
Establish and maintain cooperative working relationships;
Participate as an effective team member;
Participate in professional growth activities;
Comply with district’s rules and policies;
Perform physical requirements unaided or with the assistance of reasonable accommodations;
Perform job-related tasks as designated by teacher;
Other realted duties as assigned.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Under the direction of the classroom teacher, assist children in reaching developmental milestones;
Under the direction of the classroom teacher, work with small groups of children to reinforce the classroom program;
Clerical and record keeping tasks necessary to support the documentation required by the program;
Assist with safe supervision of children;
Other realted duties as assigned;
Follow District COVID protocols.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
CDA, AA degree, two years of full-time college preferred; or, a passing score on the paraprofessional exam;
Ability to organize and communicate effectively;
Ability to follow directions and learn new procedures;
Ability to provide care for children’s physical needs;
Ability to consistently project a friendly and supportive attitude;
Ability to obtain a CPR and First Aid training certification;
Attend Safety First Training;
Obtain a food handler’s permit;
Ability to learn and follow delegable medical procedures;
Proven work ethic;
Successful completion of Oregon school based fingerprinting and criminal history verification as deemed by State of Oregon legislation;
Succesful completion of fingerprinting and approved registry with the Central Background Registry through the Early Learning Division;
Completion of ORO Registry.
Must adhere to District COVID requirements.

RATE OF PAY:
$12.50 per hour (currenty being negotiated for the 2022-23 school year)
$1000 annual Special Education stipend

SCHEDULE:
32.5 hours per week
6.5 hours per day
Work days are based upon the KFCS Board approved distirict calendar (prorated based upon start date)
