SUMMARY OF POSITION:

The Educational Technology Coordinator (ETC) promotes the use of technology in the PreK-12 classroom, through sta? professional development. Additionally, the ETC position serves as a liaison and support between school and district technology initiatives and school based implementation. The employee guides the implementation of curriculum and technology integration projects, working collaboratively or individually. Furthermore, the ETC supports district-wide assessment from the technological perspective and supports all curricular writing in regards to technology needed and the professional development required.

The Educational Technology Coordinator is responsible for training, modeling, and assisting teachers in integrating technology in the classroom to improve student achievement. The desirable candidate has and will continue to acquire skills as necessary to e?ectively train users in the application of e-learning tools while remaining consistent with the Normandy Schools Collaborative strategic goals, vision, and mission. The position will be ?lled by an employee who is service oriented with a coaching spirit with the vision of all teachers of the district using a strong skill set of technology integration with curriculum while ushering in and sustaining a vision to have students at all grade levels increasingly more ?uid in technology use. The ETC will work in tandem with Curriculum and Instruction and the Department of Technology as a conduit for teacher accessibility and curriculum delivery.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Maintain current knowledge of the Missouri Learning Standards.
Remains knowledgeable of current education technology trends
Remains current in the knowledge of International Society for Technology in Education (ISTE) Standards for both educators and students.
Increase personal professional edtech and edtech application
Pro?ciency Works directly with teachers to integrate technology in the classroom, trains teachers to use technology e?ectively which may require observation of teachers in action.
Assists with curriculum development related to technology needs.
Prepares documentation as it relates to the use of instructional technology. Create and deliver synchronous and asynchronous training and support for improvement of teacher edtech use
Support and facilitate the review, development, and implementation of a comprehensive PK-12 assessment program related to technology
Facilitates test coordinator training for all assessments in regard to technological needs and use
Preparation of data for reporting to Executive Leadership regarding successful implementation of speci?c edtech pedagogy
O?er a tier of student and employee support services with utilization of technology
Work with the information technology department to deploy learning solutions
Orders equipment supplies and materials for the purpose of ensuring the availability of required items.
Performs record keeping and clerical functions (e.g., scheduling, copying, mailings, instructional materials, purchase orders.
Prepares written materials (e.g., reports, forms, budgets, requisitions, brochures, minutes, agendas, correspondence, etc.) for the purpose of documenting activities, providing written support and/or conveying information.
Performs other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENT
Education: Master’s Degree in Education required. Advanced Degree in Instructional and/or Assistive Technology (preferred).

Experience: A minimum of ?ve (5) years in education ?eld. A minimum of two (2) years’ experience delivering and integrating technology in instructional programs for PreK-12 students. Two (2) years professional development experience with teachers or other adults in the integration of technology for instruction and productivity (preferred).

License(s)/Certi?cation(s) Required:
Certi?ed Educational Technology Leader (CETL) certi?cation or ability to obtain within a speci?ed time.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

Demonstrates understanding of Thinking Strategies, Workshop Model and knowledge of the process and strategies used in implementing the instructional technology plans.
Demonstrates knowledge of variety of Operating Systems (including Apple OS, Windows, etc.) as well as a new computer, video, communication, web-based technologies, curriculum design, and working knowledge of instructional design and assessments.
Demonstrates the ability to communicate e?ectively, both orally and in writing, and remain receptive to new ideas.
Demonstrates the ability to address criticism in an appropriate manner and develop constructive outcomes.
Demonstrates the ability to establish and maintain positive e?ective working relationships with sta?, students, and the community.
