Title: Eligibility Resource Specialist – Energy program (5 openings)Department: Community ServicesLocation: Various Hopelink centers (Shoreline, Redmond, Carnation). Initial 2-week training is in-person in Redmond, WA.Work Schedule: Full Time (Hybrid). Monday – Friday 8:30am – 5pm. After group training, hybrid in-person with remote work options available. Since 1971, Hopelink has served homeless and low-income families, children, seniors, and people with disabilities in the north and east King County, WA. With service centers in Redmond, Bellevue, Kirkland, Shoreline and Sno-Valley (Carnation), we are the largest nonprofit organization in the area. Hopelink programs and services focus on five key areas: food, financial assistance, housing & family development, adult education & employment, and transportation/mobility. Programs are aimed at helping people achieve stability and helping them gain the skills and knowledge they need to exit poverty for good.Link will be providedSummary: The Eligibility Resource Specialist speaks with a high volume of clients one-on-one, determines client eligibility, and enrolls clients to receive programs including Energy Assistance grants and water assistance Services. Help people eat and pay their energy bills and stay warm, staff are responsible for entering data accurately and efficiently into our internal database and managing client documentation in an organized and confidential manner. They provide excellent customer service to all and respond promptly to phone and e-mail inquiries. The Energy Program is very fast paced and attention to detail is crucial. This position requires the ability to multi-task, stay calm under pressure and deescalate issues when necessary. Staff must be comfortable working with families and individuals that may be in crisis, suffer from mental illness, and/or are experiencing homelessness. This position offers paid training!This position is hired as regular and full-time, with optional summers off* based on personal preference and schedule needs. A combination of on-site and remote options is available for this role after training period is complete and job proficiency is demonstrated.Essential Functions:
Completes intake appointments to determine eligibility for various assistance grants and occasionally water assistance services
Ability to manage full schedule with 6-8 client appointments each day while processing incoming documentation for pending applications
Practices excellent time management and organizational skills to meet application deadlines for contractual compliance
Enforces agency and program eligibility requirements and policies –Program policies are often complex and inflexible
Maintains and updates electronic client information while ensuring accurate and timely data entry
Organizes and compiles client application documents electronically and confirms all required documentation is present
Corrects client applications and data in the case of an error
Ensures client information is kept confidential
Develops and maintains a strong knowledge of available services both within Hopelink and in the larger community to provide referrals and resources to clients who are seeking services
Builds and maintains positive working relationships with fellow staff, vendors, donors, volunteers, and other agencies
Performs general office duties such as typing, filing, copying, faxing, answering a multi-line telephone, and routing calls
Assists in covering front desk as needed
Responds to all inquiries in a friendly manner within 24 hours
Regular, daily attendance and punctuality is essential to our business and to this position

Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s or AA degree OR 2 years of relevant work experience or customer service experience
Intermediate level proficiency in MS Office suite including Teams, Word, Excel, Outlook, and data systems
Exceptional verbal, written and organizational skills
Ability to exercise sound judgment and effective decision-making skills to accomplish goals and creatively problem-solve issues
Ability to work effectively with and provide services to a diverse population
Ability to work at various Hopelink Centers as needed
*Preferred Qualifications: *
Two years’ experience working with low-income families
Knowledge of the social service network throughout King County, as well as immediate community area helpful
Bi-lingual skills in Spanish, Russian, Farsi, or Cantonese

Licenses, Certificates and other requirements:
Must have reliable personal transportation in order to adhere to attendance expectations.
Must pass criminal background check through the Washington State Patrol
