Job Summary

Supports all Finance functions, including budgeting, forecasting, planning, and analyses, providing critical and strategic insights to YMCA Senior Leadership.

Minimum compensation for this role is $75,000.00/ year

Supports the development and analysis of operating and capital budgets.
Assist in planning and executing the budget processes and procedures.
Assists Branch and Department managers with the preparation of budgets, pricing proposals, and various ad hoc analyses.
Review, evaluate and analyze Branch and Department budgetary data, performance and financial results, and forecasts with consideration of YMCA strategy, goals, and budget guidelines. Recommend corrective actions and changes to financial performance where necessary.
Works with Accounting to understand and assist with fiscal month-end reporting, variance assessments, and allocation schedules.
Provides financial and operational data analyses, including trend analysis, pro formas, forecasts, scenarios, and predictive models.
Provides analysis and business modeling support for existing and proposed strategic and program initiatives for senior management.
Develops, provides and maintains finance-related trainings for the organization.
Other duties as assigned.


Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or equivalent.
Three+ years’ experience in accounting, auditing and/or financial analysis.
Master’s degree or special certifications such as a CPA, may substitute for experience.
Requires accuracy, attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
Experience creating, analyzing, and reporting on budgets and period-end results.
Strong communication skills, both oral and written.
Strong analytical skills.
Facilitate budget development- and financial-modeling process, related to guidelines, scope, staff, or resources needed.
Ensures and provides critical thinking.
Provides superior customer service.
Has strong knowledge of finance and accounting.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and budgeting software required, particularly extensive experience with Excel spreadsheets, formulas, pivot tables, connection and translation of data from accounting systems to Excel and back, formatting and sharing data to communicate effectively with non-Finance team members.


Knowledge of and previous experience with diverse populations (language, culture, race, physical ability, sexual orientation, etc.).
Ability to speak any language in addition to English may be helpful.


This position has a direct effect on the operations of the Association, preparing the annual operating budget and providing financial analyses to senior leadership and other leaders on past, current and future performance, improving decision making and facilitating the allocation of resources, ensuring the organization is on track to fulfill its mission.
