Position : Grocery Buyer
Description :
Position Summary:
This Buyer position will report to leadership and will focus on the Grocery market. Key responsibilities will include vendor management, determining appropriate order quantity, tracking product delivery, and analyzing product and pricing data to determine the most efficient and profitable product distribution throughout the network of wholesale & retail partners.
Primary Responsibilities:
Analyzing & Negotiating deals with suppliers, researching possible item selection & managing inventory
Effectively communicate with the management team to ensure all orders are accurate
Maintain relationships and resolve issues that arise ensuring compliance with company standards, and processes.
Work with the Traffic Department to ensure all orders are executed properly
Track merchandise sales performance, execute revisions to Purchase & Sales Orders as needed.
Understand and enhance processes to suggest and implement new ideas for creating efficiencies within the company.
Complete all ad-hoc reporting requests including monitoring of inventory, purchasing needs, pricing analysis and other reports requested by management
Qualifications
College Degree – Excellent Communication Skills – Positive Attitude and Great Attention to detail.
Software Skills:
· Microsoft Office – proficient in Excel with ability to produce meaningful reports
Education and Business experience:
· Bachelor’s Degree in Business or other related discipline (Ops, Logistics, etc.) or 5+ years in an Assistant or Associate Buyer role
· Experience in procurement; consumer product/retail experience is preferred
· Strong negotiation skills with the ability to remain composed and confident in competitive atmosphere
Personal Skills:
· Able to establish effective relationships with all levels of management within and outside of the company
· Able to work independently, as well as part of a team, in a fast-paced environment
· Ability to make business decisions and remain composed when immediate issues arise
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $80,000.00 – $85,000.00 per year
