IMTS is currently seeking a dedicated professional to provide technical expertise, management support, and end user support for the security of our Information Systems infrastructure and Office 365 (O365) environment. IMTS is an ISO 20000-1 and 27001 certified/registered company with strong Information Technology (IT) and Information Security (IS) policies and processes.
We are seeking a junior-level Cyber Security specialist. As a member of the security team, your primary responsibilities will include assisting with support requests in the coordination, validation, and processing of candidates to ensure all cleared personnel have the required documentation and approvals prior to allowing access to our information technology environment. Responsibilities include monitoring and updating security controls, responding to potential cybersecurity events and incidents, conducting internal audits, conducting vulnerability assessments and supporting vulnerability response actions (e.g. patching, shutting down services, ports or protocols). You must be able to work collaboratively with other staff elements including but not limited to IT staff.
Process and close out service tickets (New Hire, Service Request) using the ServiceDesk system
Establish and maintain user accounts (in coordination with IT), assign access permissions and establish follow/mature password and account policies
Responsible for hardware setup and configuration (configure LAN, laptops, endpoint protection, etc.)
Create and/or disable Active Directory accounts (in coordination with IT)
Grant and/or remove access permissions
Establish network and email accounts (in coordination with IT)
Creates, changes, and deletes user accounts per request (in coordination with IT)
Responsible for documenting all requests and resolutions in the ticketing system (ServiceDesk)
Responsible for user software installation (in coordination with IT)
Responsibilities may include implementing and applying technologies, processes, and practices designed to protect networks, devices, programs, and data from malicious attack, damage, or unauthorized access.
May assist to design and implement plans of action and milestones to remediate findings from vulnerability and risk assessments.
Responsibilities may include performing risk assessments of Information
Systems, including managing the findings, concurrence, POA&Ms and risk acceptance cycle
Must be U.S. Citizen
Associates degree or equivalent IT related training (60 credit hours) desired, bachelor’s degree or equivalent preferred
Proven experience as IT Technician, IT Internship or relevant/related position desired
CompTIA Security+ or equivalent certification training required if no degree, desired if degree
Excellent analytical, diagnostic and problem-solving skills
ITIL Foundation certification desired or ITIL foundation level knowledge
Experience with Office365 required
Willing to engage in additional training to improve job competency and skills
1-2 years of experience in similar technical role within information security/cybersecurity
Understanding of NIST Risk Management Framework (SP 800-53 or 800-171) or ISO 27001 and related risk activities/security controls strongly desired
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Excellent time management and organizational skills.
Ability to work with minimal to moderate supervision
Must have working knowledge of Microsoft Office products and Windows operating systems
Knowledge or networking and virtual components desired
Must have the ability to drive process improvements and identify gaps
Public Trust or Secret or higher clearance or ability to get one desired
The ability to lift minimum 25 pounds objects. The ability to work to maintain computers including under the desks and in the server room/closet. The ability to stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
