Description :
This recruitment will be used to fill two part-time (a maximum of 20 hours per week) Lab Assistant positions for the College of Forestry at Oregon State University (OSU).

This position will provide assistance with several research projects currently underway in the laboratory and greenhouse. Information about the research group can be found at

Position Duties

60% – Conduct a variety of tasks including preparing media, washing dishes, tissue culture, gene transformation, imaging, data collection, and propagation
30% – Conduct greenhouse work including potting/re-potting, trimming plants, moving plants, fertilizing plants, monitoring pests, watering, keeping the greenhouse clean, collecting data, and taking photos
10% – Field work, including collecting flowers, pulling weeds, planting, measuring plants, collecting data, and data entry
Minimum Qualifications

Additional Required Qualifications

Ability to successfully work independently
Excellent communication skills
Must have weekend availability
This position requires driving a University vehicle or a personal vehicle on behalf of the University; therefore, the incumbent must successfully complete a Motor Vehicle History Check, possess and maintain a current, valid driver’s license in their state of residence, be determined to be position qualified and self-report convictions (as per Voluntary and Compulsory Driver Standards OSU Standard 125-155-0200) as per OSU Standard 576-056-0000 et seq
Preferred (Special) Qualifications

A demonstrable commitment to promoting and enhancing diversity.
Prior wet lab experience.
Interest in biotechnology.
