Answers telephone, schedules procedures and performs a variety of clerical duties.
Position Reports To: Inpatient Cardiac Services Manager
Exhibits excellent customer service skills
Uses telephone, FAX machines, computers, printers, copiers, label printers and laminator
Schedules complex Procedures for Interventional Radiology, Cardiology and Echocardiography
Explains any patient prep and makes arrangements for labs if needed for the exam.
Places changes orders for exams and referrals for other patients services as needed
Instructs patients on anticoagulation status and contrast allergies
Prescreens patients for all procedures to determine what testing is needed prior to procedure, to prevent delays
Interacts very closely with Radiologists, Cardiologists, and staff members to get procedure protocols and special instructions for patients with contraindications
Ensures prior-auth has occurred prior to scheduling
Obtains proper ICD 10 and CPT codes to assure proper billing
Proficient in all EMR and electronic image management systems PACS systems with high degree of accuracy
Works collaboratively with Patient Access, Pre-op, Surgery, and other departments as needed
Gathers, collects, and creates documentation for Pre-op procedures
Builds and maintains the Interventional Radiology schedules
Other duties as assigned

Washington State LPN license.
Working knowledge of computers, accurate keyboarding skills, email communication and password management.
Attention to detail, numerical accuracy, completeness of work, and typing/keyboarding proficiency.
Effective written and verbal communication skills.
Previous clerical or office experience in an imaging or medical setting.
Familiarity with medical terminology.
O = Occasional, represents 1 to 25% or up to 30 minutes in a 2 hour workday.
F = Frequent, represents 26 to 50% or up to 1 hour of a 2 hour workday.
C = Continuous, represents 51% to 100% or up to 2 hours of a 2 hour workday.
