Description :
EMSL Analytical, Inc., one of the largest environmental testing firms in the United States, is currently seeking a full time Microbiologist I- Direct Microscopy for its Headquarters laboratory location in Cinnaminson, NJ. Join our team to support healthy indoor air quality and in helping people live and breathe better.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:Preparing and identifying a variety of environmental samples for fungal structures using direct microscopy. (We do not test clinical samples)Maintaining quality control records as needed and some clerical work may be involved for data entry.Perform standard and non-standard laboratory procedures including fungi spore analysis (spore traps and direct examinations).Work on special projects as assigned, some clerical work may be involved.
Requirements: Associate’s degree or Bachelor’s degree is preferred, but not required.No lab experience is necessary, just a desire to learn technical skills and become proficient in common lab procedures. On-the-job training will be provided.Must be willing to work with microscopes, analytical balances, biological safety cabinets, and learn good lab practices.Must be able to distinguish colors in order to perform the analysis.Good computer skills are important for data entry tasks.Must have attention to detail and be willing to learn analytical skills.Must be able to work independently and within a team.Must be able to work under strict timelines in order to and meet our clients’ deadlines.
Available Shifts: Monday to Friday 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
