POSITION SUMMARY:
A Patient Account Representative will work directly with answering questions patients may have regarding hospital bills. In this position, the Account Representative will also: process work comp claims, provide pre-service quotes and obtain pre-pay collections and payment plans, and have a general knowledge of all Business Office functions.
ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: This section reviews the employee’s performance of the responsibilities outlined in his/her specific job description.
1. Answer customer inquiries regarding patient accounts.
2. Receipt payments for walk in customers.
3. Making phone calls to patients to collect on balances due and/or assist in setting up payment plans.
4. Knowledge of filing insurance claims and follow up as needed.
5. Other duties as assigned by the Business Office Manager. Requirements:
EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION:
High School Diploma (or GED or High School Equivalence Certificate).
Prior experience working with insurance claims is preferred.
