Position : Purchasing Agent
Description :
This position performs purchasing duties in support of city operations.
MAJOR DUTIES
Prepares and coordinates bid requests for the purchase of goods and services; coordinates advertisement, addenda, bid openings, filing of bid documents and maintains bid opening documents on City website.
Coordinates the disposal of city surplus property.
Maintains procurement records, including bid documents, vehicle titles, and maintenance records.
Administers the City’s bidder’s listing.
Maintains City credit card records to file U.S. Communities rebate application annually.
Completes required training.
Performs related duties.
KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED BY THE POSITION
Knowledge of city purchasing processes.
Knowledge of surplus property disposal procedures.
Knowledge of relevant state and federal guidelines.
Knowledge of computers and job related software programs.
Skill in the analysis of problems and the development and implementation of solutions.
Skill in the preparation of clear and precise financial reports.
Skill in oral and written communication.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Knowledge and level of competency commonly associated with the completion of an associate’s degree in a course of study related to the occupational field.
Sufficient experience to understand the basic principles relevant to the major duties of the position, usually associated with the completion of an apprenticeship/ internship or having had a similar position for one to three years.
Possession of or ability to readily obtain a valid driver’s license issued by the State of Missouri for the type of vehicle or equipment operated.
Ability to be bonded.
