Location: Teaneck, NJSalary: $150K
A growing poly company, is looking for a QA – SQF 3 Manager. The ideal candidate will be responsible for all quality aspects within the plant and champion food safety programs.
The right individual will Implement and uphold quality control standards and regulatory compliance for all phases of production; responsible for ensuring that all applicable businesses, policies, procedures, and specifications are implemented and followed; assist the General Manager to ensure that the company continues to maintain superior quality assurance at all times; and ensure that all policies, standards, etc. are effectively communicated, understood, and consistently adhered to by all employees.
Responsibilities
Ensuring continued implementation, review, and maintenance of the company’s established SQF food safety and quality management system, including all food safety fundamentals, HACCP, and Food Safety Plans under the FSMA regulations.
Ensuring compliance of SOP’s, GMPs, regulatory requirements, and Company expectations
Initiating investigations of all specification results and process deviations
Verifying and validating the site’s implemented SQF program
Ensuring all food safety and quality-related corrective actions are implemented and effective as necessary to maintain the integrity of the SQF food safety and quality management system
Reviewing and signing off on all completed food safety and quality-related production records
Taking responsibility for the implementation and maintenance of the site’s environmental monitoring program
Managing and handling all food safety and quality-related customer complaints from complaint receiving, logging of complaints, internal investigations, implementation of corrective actions and follow up as well as conducting all communications between the company and the customer
Conducting the required food safety and quality training to new employees as part of the employee’s orientation training plus managing and conducting the required annual food safety and quality refresher training for existing employees covering all departments; maintaining records of all training
Delivering annual refresher training to all staff and maintaining associated training records
Taking the lead on 3rd party and customer food safety audits on behalf of the company
Managing the site’s Cleaning and Sanitation program
Working very closely with the CEO, CFO, and Production Manager of the company
Must be able to travel to customers sites as well as to various plant locations
Skills:
3+ years’ experience in a food manufacturing environment in a Quality role
3+ years of supervisory/management experience with quality/auditing
Strong working knowledge of equipment and materials
Proven ability to identify and lead the implementation of meaningful quality and process improvements
Experience in achieving and maintaining SQF level 2&3
Total Quality Management, High Performance Work Systems, Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma experience
Past history with SQF Practitioner training
Ability to operate in a team environment
Ability to adapt in a changing work environment
Comfortable working independently
Effective communication skills and ability to persuasively and passionately communicate needs for continuous improvement in food safety & quality
Excellent interpersonal skills a must
Proficiency in Microsoft Suite
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: Up to $150,000.00 per year
