Quality Inspector/Field Service
SHIFT: First Shift (6:30 AM – 3:00 PM) Monday – Friday
TRAVEL: Yes (approximately 25%)
EDUCATION: Associates Degree in Electronics or equivalent experience
DESCRIPTION: Perform thorough and accurate inspections to ensure that products, materials, and equipment meet quality standards. Install, troubleshoot, and repair switchgear at customer job sites. Assist in the execution of multiple Quality Assurance processes including, but not limited to, QMS management, Non-Conformance reporting and analysis, scheduling updates, issue tracking and follow-up, and Customer Complaints.
SKILLS:
Good personal, phone, and e-mail communication.
Good organizational and prioritizing skills with attention to detail.
General computer skills.
Ability to use: Measuring tape, calculator, gauges, AC/DC hi-pot test equipment, motorized vehicles of up to 26,000 GVW, man lift, general hand tools, and general office equipment. (desired)
Knowledge of AZZ product or general electronics (desired).
Able to read and interpret schematic prints (desired).
DUTIES:
Check electrical phasing on all factory assembled systems. Sign electrical test reports on finished product indicating test was performed. Obtain/maintain necessary documentation.
Lead in the planning and coordination of travel arrangements, equipment, and supplies needed for field service. Lead in staging equipment, tools, and parts, and direct subcontractors as necessary. Perform installation, maintenance, and repair duties. Follow up with customer to ensure that equipment is performing as expected.
Forklift operator training certificate.
Inspect products at designated Hold Points to ensure conformity.
Ability to inspect and report nonconforming items of products, materials, equipment or other items assigned to them.
Able to perform calculations involving addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division using decimals, fractions, and whole numbers. Able to calculate and interpret common tape measurements.
Ability to identify and analyze nonconforming products that are identified through the QMS system.
Able to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
