SUMMARY
The Lead Quality Inspector leads and facilitates the administration and continuous improvement of the site’s Quality Inspector team, to ensure compliance with customer and regulatory requirements. They works with their Manufacturing and Materials team counterparts to maintain and coordinate inspection flow and jobs to support production.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Ensure training requirements are met and maintained for all inspectors on assigned shifts.
Ensure daily work assignments reflect job priorities as defined by manufacturing.
Perform duties of an Inspector III as needed.
Provide on-the-job training and coaching to Inspectors and others performing inspection.
Represent the Quality team in shop floor meetings, and act as the first line of escalation for questions about product quality or quality processes.
Acting supervisor when required; supervision experience preferred.
Participate in daily team lead meetings.
Performs other functions as required.
Practice, plan, and participate in Continuous Improvement and Lean activities for the department to drive improvement and streamline quality, time, and costs.
Participate in work group/team activities.
Maintain a clean and safe work area and environment.
Must be a positive and dependable member of the quality group.
Must be adaptive and supportive of change.
Must provide input to problem solving process and possess good communication skills.
The work performed in this job can only be done on site and attendance is an essential function of the job.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This job may require some supervisory responsibilities.
QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
1+ years experience with inspection and quality systems in an electronics manufacturing environment.
1+ year experience as a Supervisor or Lead strongly preferred.
High School diploma or GED required. Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and manufacturing applications required.
IPC-A-610 certification required; familiarity with IPC-A-600 and IPC-A-620 preferred.
Highly preferred: knowledge of materials, components and methods used in the construction of electronic systems, printed circuit board assemblies and subassemblies.
Must have the legal-permanent right to work in the United States.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read, speak and understand English to enable clear communication and comprehension of documentation.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Basic math skills will be required to add, subtract, multiply and divide. Basic understanding of and ability to read performance graphs.
REASONING ABILITY
Able to understand and determine product quality to written documentation.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
IPC-A-610 inspector current revision.
