Description
Resident Services Assistant at GSA Brookside at Providence Hood River Hospital. This is a 0.9 FTE position that typically works on a Day shift on weekdays and weekends.
MAJOR CHALLENGES:

Attending to Resident needs in a timely manner while balancing other priorities and responsibilities.

Providing a variety of services and care, including weighing, transferring, bathing, dressing, and transporting, etc., to residents who are combative, obese, or confused without resulting injury to resident, co-worker or oneself.

Effectively communicating information in a timely, courteous and caring manner to people in charge, peers, residents and families as appropriate.

Recognizing significant resident distress or change-in-condition during care and communicating this information to appropriate personal.

Assisting staff with internal conflict and ensuring the staff are resident focused.6. Holding others accountable for following careplan and department policies.

Patient Population Served: Geriatric
Consequently, the employee must be competent in the interpretation of a patient’s self-report or behavior, and this information must be interpreted with an understanding of the cognitive, physical, emotional/psychosocial and chronological maturation process. The treatment of patients should be individualized and should reflect an understanding of the developmental needs and range of treatment needs for each patient.
Required Qualification:

Education to meet certification, license or registration requirement.
Required upon hire: National Food Handler Card – State County City Authority
Required upon hire: National Provider BLS – American Heart Association
Required upon hire: Criminal Background clearance. In compliance with company policy and state regulations, a Department of Human Services (DHS) background check is required for this position.

Preferred Qualification:

Experience in RCF/ALF or hospital/long term care.
