The Evening Lessons Supervisor is responsible for overseeing evening shift adult lesson operations in the Meadows Learning Center (MLC) Department.
This position will supervise our Evening Lesson operations which include Adult Group Lessons, Youth Group Lessons, some multi-week program lessons as well as coordination with the Chill Foundation and other groups that come for lessons during the evening. Responsibilities include coordinating with the MLC Leadership team to ensure adequate staffing levels.
The ideal candidate is comfortable working with adults and youth in a dynamic environment, has strong communication skills for coordination and collaboration between MLC and night operations departments. The ideal candidate must also be confident in their skiing/riding technical and teaching abilities to be able to assess instructor skills and make the right lesson assignments based on guest needs.
The Meadows Learning Center is one of the most fun departments to work in as sharing your passion of skiing and snowboarding with others who are just learning or wanting to improve is very rewarding. Being the supervisor who sets everyone’s day up for success is equally rewarding. The MLC is the largest department at Mt. Hood Meadows yet still has a family vibe, so you’ll always have someone to ski or ride with because everyone on the team loves to share the stoke on the mountain!
Qualifications & Experience
18 years of age or older
Current PSIA-AASI Level I Certification
Intermediate to advance skiing/riding ability
Desire to work indoors and outdoors in all conditions
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office Products
Strong guest service skills and experience
Minimum of two (2) seasons teaching snow sports experience or equivalent
Available to work weekends and holidays during the winter season
Comfortable with the changing dynamics of a seasonal business
Employment in this position is subject to a satisfactory background check
Preferred Qualifications & Experience
PSIA-AASI Level II Certification and Specialist Credentials
Supervisory experience
Experience with ski and snowboard school operations
