Job Summary of Roles and Responsibilities
POWER Engineers is currently seeking a Structural Drafter to work in the Power Delivery Substation Department in our Portland office located in Lake Oswego, Oregon. Responsibilities
The position involves drafting opportunities on substation projects that include foundations and structural steel detailing.
The successful candidate will be responsible for learning, understanding, and implementing CAD knowledge and assisting others with understanding and following standards; learn client standards, practices, and procedures to ensure that work produced conforms to the client’s standards and expectations; be responsible for knowing and following POWER’s standards, procedures, and processes; collaborate on design issues; and seek guidance from those with more experience.
Required Education/Experience
Associates degree in drafting (or equivalent technical degree).
AutoCAD experience.
The candidate must have strong command of the English language with good written and oral communication skills in order to work effectively with other team members.
Candidates must be legally authorized to work permanently in the U.S. without the need for work sponsorship.
Desired Education/Experience
Drafting experience with AutoCAD and/or MicroStation, preferably in an engineering work environment.
Knowledge of industry standard concrete, rebar, and structural steel detailing practices.
Ability to produce Steel and Foundation Plans, Sections, and Elevation Views a plus.
Experience preparing Bill of Materials would be beneficial.
