Purpose
The Director of Supply Chain (DSC) main purpose is to optimize the total delivered cost within the customer order-to-cash process.
Overview of the Role
The DSC will provide both strategic direction and daily tactical leadership for Nippon Dynawave Packaging’s customer supply chain organization. This position is a member of the business leadership team that reports directly to the business President. This role will work closely with all Leadership Team members to improve order-to-cash efficiency and drive earnings for the business. Typical job duties include monitoring sales forecasts to identify impacts to the customer supply chain, implementing logistical waste reducing strategies, improving marine, rail and truck shipment processes and developing improved customer supply chain management procedures. The DSC may also be required to develop relationships with logistics vendors, negotiate with select logistics/warehousing suppliers and develop processes to track performance.
Scope
The DSC will have direct responsibility for Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP), Logistics, Machine Scheduling, Warehousing and Shipping, including contracted resources, and Lean Six Sigma continuous improvement.
Qualifications
Minimum four-year college degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Finance, or other applicable area of study. MBA and Lean Six Sigma certification highly desired.
At least 10 years of experience in supply chain management.
Knowledge of paper & pulp or other continuous process industrial manufacturing.
Knowledge and experience managing within the Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) process cycle.
Knowledge of Order Management Systems, preferably Majiq (Elixir).
Extensive experience in the principles of domestic and export transportation, third-party logistics and contract warehousing, documentation, cost, quality and delivery performance.
Strong knowledge of accounting principles, along with forecasting and analyzing data and financial information.
Ability to effectively implement process improvement/waste reduction methodologies.
An understanding of business and management principles, leadership strategies and strategic planning.
The ability to manage and develop people, drive alignment of purpose and process across teams, communicate effectively.
