University of Missouri Health Care (MU Health Care) located in Columbia, Missouri, is seeking an experienced and energetic Privacy Specialist to work within the Privacy Office
for
mid-Missouri’s only academic health system.

Job Details:

Position: System Privacy Support Specialist (On-Site)
Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00AM – 5:00PM
Work location: MU Health Care, Columbia, MO 65212
Salary: 57,595 – $93,933

The
successful candidate will conduct investigations into privacy complaints, perform audits to ensure accesses to information follow the parameters outlined in HIPAA, and perform data analysis for metric tracking and root cause identification. The candidate will work collaboratively within the organization to support strategic goals, while ensuring compliance with HIPAA.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of experience and education from which comparable knowledge and abilities can be obtained is required and minimum of three years’ experience within a health care environment is preferred.

Preferred qualifications:

Prior experience and knowledge of HIPAA/HITECH Privacy and Data Security is preferred.
Registered and or licensed practical nurse is preferred.
