Technology Lead – Surveillance Whippany, NJ
As a Barclays Technology Lead, you will be involved in the Innovation & Analytics programme, responsible for surveillance scenarios and the technology build-out. This position will architect, design, and develop analytical models using Big Data Technologies like Hadoop, Spark/Scala, Hive, Python, and Kafka. You will be directly involved in designing robust code from the point of view of performance, reuse and supportability, and proper controls, which are consistent with best practices with appropriate documentation.

What will you be doing?
• You will be build graphing the ingestion process and support graph User-Interface development using DataStax, Gemlin, D3, and Angular
Ensuring that all activities and duties are carried out in full compliance with regulatory requirements, Enterprise Wide Risk Management Framework and internal Barclays policies
Identifying the root cause, come up with an efficient cost-effective solution, and appropriately escalate issues & risks
Discussing requirements and testing details with Tech Lead, Data Scientist, QA, and business stakeholders
Training new members (both onshore and offshore) which includes code-reviews, mentoring and bringing them up to speed
Possessing good business domain knowledge in Compliance, Financial Crime, and Financial Services
Handling multiple tasks simultaneously with frequently changing priorities
What we’re looking for:
• Extensive experience as a Big Data / Full Stack Developer with a proven record of multiple, successful deliveries
Extensive, hands-on experience with Hadoop, Spark/Scala, Python, Angular, Kafka, and Graph technologies
Ability to develop and support sophisticated analytics pipelines using big data technologies and machine learning algorithms
Minimum 4-year college degree
Skills that will help you in the role:
• Ability to influence architecture/design and communicate effectively to senior management and stakeholders
Hands-on experience with ETL and Tableau business intelligence tools
Being highly self-motivated with a confident “do the right thing” attitude
